Every year, EM Strasbourg Business School hosts around 450 exchange students within the framework of our cooperation agreements with over 200 partner universities worldwide. The type and outcome of these exchanges vary according to the specific cooperation agreement concluded with each partner university.
Type of exchanges
Simple exchange: students from partner universities spend one or two semesters within specific Bachelor or master’s programmes at EM Strasbourg Business School. They are graded for the courses that they take and they transfer the grades/ECTS credits obtained here to their home universities. They do not receive any degrees from EM Strasbourg Business School.
Dual degree: students from partner universities with whom EM Strasbourg has concluded dual degree agreements spend one academic year at EM Strasbourg Business School. These exchanges take place mostly within our Grande Ecole masters’ programme, but we also have a few dual degree agreements at bachelors’ level.
Masters’ level students may choose to follow one of our specialisations taught in English or in French (depending on the dual degree agreement):
Graduate dual degree students spend two semesters of study in Strasbourg, and they need to complete an internship, write a Case Study and pass a Grand Oral oral examination at the end of their studies. The latter is not marked, but it is compulsory for any student wishing to get the masters’ degree.
Upon successful completion of the programme, students receive the masters’ degree from EM Strasbourg Business School and the degree from their home university. Every year, EM Strasbourg Business School hosts around 50 graduate dual degree students.
Our exchange programmes
Grande Ecole Programme
Our Grande Ecole programme is the main programme hosting simple exchange and dual degree students at graduate and undergraduate levels.
Bachelor in European Management
The Bachelor in European Management is a University of Strasbourg degree (diplome d’université) that we propose within our Grande Ecole programme to exchange students who have completed at least two years of higher education in business. The degree is completed over one year or two semesters. The degree is taught in English, but students have the possibility to take French language classes.
Bachelor in International Business
The Bachelor in International Business (BIB) is an undergraduate University of Strasbourg degree taught over three years. Students from specific partner universities may join the BIB programme as simple exchange students, except for students from the University of Furtwangen in Germany who complete the BIB programme as dual degree students. Classes offered in English and French are taken in conjunction with French students enrolled in the BIB programme and are taught by EM Strasbourg Business School faculty.

Being in the heart of Europe in the city of Strasbourg is a geographical advantage for our School which we integrate into our study programmes in turning Europe into a natural component of our curricula.
An excellent example of matching European theory and practice is the class “Introduction to European Economic Policy” led by Dr. Sabine Menu, associate professor. In order to gain practical understanding of decision making within the European institutions, over 100 of students take part in a Simulation Game and visit of the European Parliament.
